🚧 A risky intersection is getting an upgrade 🚧

AANT is pleased that the Territory Government has announced the Stuart Highway and Bees Creek Road intersection at Freds Pass is set for a safety upgrade, with works beginning Monday 31st August.

The intersection ranked #6 among Greater Darwin’s riskiest in AANT’s 2026 Risky Roads Report, after you highlighted that it was a location of concern.

The upgrade will include:
• a new deceleration slip lane for the Stuart Highway left turn
• culvert extension
• upgraded streetlighting
• new road safety barriers

The intersection will remain open throughout the works, but motorists can expect temporary lane closures, reduced speeds and some delays.

We welcome this investment in improving safety at an intersection you told us needed attention.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our first AANT EV Test Drive Day.

With 131 test drives on the day, the response was fantastic.

We brought together 3 local dealerships, 17 EV models, EV owners and experts to give our members and the local community the chance to ask questions, get informed and experience EVs firsthand.

We are proud to play a role in helping Territorians make informed decisions and support the transition to electric vehicles in the Territory.
