✨2026 Cummins District Community Upskill Program Recipient - Meg Shirley

A big congratulations to Meg Shirley on receiving funding for her Diploma of Practice Management through the Cummins District Community Upskill Program!

Here is what Meg had to say about receiving the support:
"I am grateful to Bendigo Bank for funding the cost of my Diploma of Practice Management. The funding has reduced the pressure of cost of living for my family while allowing me to upskill in practice management at Lower Eyre Family Practice (LEFP).

I have enjoyed my role as registered nurse at LEFP for close to 10 years now and am excited to now be more involved in all aspects of running the clinic. It is important to me that I am properly credentialed as a practice manager to give the best to our staff and our community in Cummins and surrounding areas. A big congratulations to Matilda Nettle on her $2,000 scholarship for her study of a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (honours) at Adelaide University!

Here is what Matilda had to say about receiving the scholarship:
"I am incredibly lucky to be awarded with this scholarship that has supported my transition into Uni life. This scholarship has allowed me to embrace the beginning of uni life, helping to cover essential living expenses such as rent, electricity and groceries.

Although moving away from home has been difficult I am deeply thankful for the opportunity that would not be possible without the support and generosity of our community. This scholarship highlights the value of rural communities who support young people completing further education. In the future, I hope to give back by returning to the Eyre Peninsula to practice as an Occupational Therapist within our community.

I would like to thank Bendigo Bank for investing in my future in the same way I hope to invest in and support our community in years to come."
