The most popular questions that advisors are asking this EOFY are related to changes in downsizer contributions. Those that are selling their home and downsizing, may not be aware that the downsizer super contribution has now been brought down to 60 years of age. Before this change, a person had to be 65 or older to make this contribution.

From the date of the sale, the client has 90 days to make this contribution. Therefore, if a client is about to turn 60 when they sell their house, they can still make this contribution so long as their birthday is within this 90 day period.
