This reading excerpt, taken from ‘life’ reading 707-1, was given in October 1934 for a 57-year-old male. Mr (707) was present for the reading.
The reading began with these observations about the information being helpful for Mr (707)’s soul development: ‘In giving that which may be helpful for the entity in its present development, much of every nature crowds in to be told; for the pages that are written, the influences that have borne upon the activities of the entity are many. These are as interpretations of that recorded here, which - if applied in the experience of the entity in the present - will bring those things into manifestations through activities that will be of helpfulness to the entity, as we see, in its soul development.’
The reading then described how Mr (707) had been influenced by various things in his environment and activities:
‘The astronomical, the numerological, the environs of the creations in the vibrations from metals, from stones, from those of every form, have - through the experience of the entity at times had their influence; and thus bear for the entity something that must be used as an omen, or as an experience that may aid the entity in making the proper interpretations of those things that to many an one are not lawful to be spoken in materiality - hence come only to those who have eyes to see, through the spiritual realms, or who have ears to hear the music of the spheres, the growing or the beauty in all the relationships to man that make for expressions of the divine that may be, and is, a portion of man's experience. No man, no physical matter, has ever seen GOD at any time; only the MANIFESTATIONS of Him.
As to numbers, the two hundred and ninety-sixth day of the year - this brings eight as a VIBRATION for the entity that means an awakening within the inner self to the new possibilities, the new opportunities within self that may make for not only carrying with it the ABILITIES but the obligations of same as well. For to whom much is given in any manifested form, of him much is required. For THESE as we find, my son, are as the basic, elemental principles of truth itself. It is a growing thing, even as the knowledge of God, even as the knowledge of truth, even as the knowledge of life; which all are words, yet mean the variations of expressions of that YE, my son, would worship as a living God.
Hence we find the agate, the beryl, should be STONES with the vibrations and under the influence that the entity may find carrying an incense to the finer self that makes for an awakening, an opening of the inner self for the RECEPTIVENESS.’
The reading then examined Mr (707)’s ‘astrological sojourns’ including the influence of Venus and Uranus:
‘From Venus and Uranus there are contradictory influences in the experience at times. Hence we find periods when the entity, through those activities and meditations in self, becomes wandering; losing that hold upon the strength that has raised, or that may - in its manifestations for its fellow man - become as a wonderment - and the entity doubts. Fears arise. If thou hast centered thy choice in self, be fearful! If thou art centering self in Him .... then be NOT afraid!’
The reading then examined four prior lifetimes for Mr (707) - in the US, in the Roman and Grecian Land, in the Persian Land and in the Egyptian land, with this observation about that Egyptian lifetime:
‘The entity then was among the natives that rose in rebellion, yet - as there was the reestablishing of the Priest that brought to the common peoples and to all those that would harken the greater knowledge of the relationships of man to man being but the manifestation of the Father to the sons of men - the entity became among the priests that aided in the Temple of Sacrifice, and those that guarded in the Temple Beautiful; rising to those positions or powers through the abilities of the entity to assist in the disseminations of those tenets that were gathered from time to time - and thus was in the name Roi-Too.’
The reading then addressed Mr (707)’s present opportunities: ‘Then, as to that to which the entity may attain in the present, and how :
Study, STUDY - as thou didst in the Macedonian land, as thou did in those periods when ye sought to know the man acquainted with grief, yet a POWER of might, a man among men - Him that walked in Galilee, Him that defied all the Romans' influence, He that defied even His brethren in the Sanhedrin, He that aided in making the paths straight that they that walked therein might know the light and the truth! THOU, in thine self, then, may help thy fellow man. The soul's awakening, whether from the body or the body from without, must FIND expression from WITHIN. For THERE has He promised to meet thee, in the mount of thine OWN self! Hence give - GIVE - give of self's strength that thou may have life, and having life have it more abundantly in Him. For thy abilities are many. Make of them that which is more and more the manifestation of thy Lord.’
Three questions were then asked:
‘(Q) About how much time have I spent in reincarnation up to the present time? (A) Almost in all the cycles that have had the incoming from period to period hast thou dwelt. Thine first incoming in the earth was during those periods of the Atlanteans that made for the divisions. Hence, counting in time, some twenty thousand years.
(Q) What degree of psychic power have I, if any? (A) Degree? HARDLY, my friend, may these powers be called DEGREES! For there is the raising within self of those influences that may make known even the MYSTERIES of old. But let these be tempered, my brother, with those truths thou gained in that prison wall. The abilities to heal, the abilities to teach, the abilities to minister, ALL are thine! As to degrees - to the nth; yea, to the tenth degree may they be manifest in thee!
(Q) Do I have the power of trance mediumship in any form? (A) ALL forms! But use rather that as thou seest in thy Lord, thy Master, thy God!’
