Reserve Bank Announcement

Sadly they have increased the official cash rate by a further .25 basis points bring it up to 4.25%

This is going to hurt many people. As always, if you need to review your loan just let us know.

I don’t know about you but this whole overseas crisis seems to not be going anywhere soon and is becoming more worrying by the day.

Watching closely the impact this will have/is having here in Australia. Fuel prices, rising costs for food, transport (keeping our trucks on the road), businesses not being able to hang on just to name a few concerns.

As a Mortgage Broker the general cost of living is a huge concern and we also have potential for our interest rates here in Australia to rise even further. A question I have been getting over the last four weeks - is should I fix my interest rate or not. Sadly I can’t advise what the right thing is to do however I can discuss your options available so you can make an informed decision on what best suits your needs.

If you do decide that you want to fix your interest rate, then you need to be happy with the timeframe and interest rate chosen. If for any reason you need to break out of a fixed rate ie selling home, refinancing or other purpose then you also need to be prepared for break costs. These costs will vary based on several factors and won’t be available until you break your fixed rate.

Taking the time to look at your current lending situation and maybe consolidating might be all that is needed to take some pressure off.

What a crazy few weeks we have had, and the pain to our wallets is only getting worse.

With the RBA increasing interest rates again, the crisis in the Middle East which is impacting our fuel that will ultimately affect our food chain and other goods it really is a bit sickening.

Oh gosh…. The Reserve Bank have announced an increase of .25 Basis Points on the cash rate.

It is certainly not good news for those with Mortgages and so early in the new year.

Well that was a scary storm that played havoc with a lot of us late yesterday.

Thanks to Energex, we have just got our power back here - they do an amazing job at this time of year. We also have the army nearby that have been helping clear fallen trees.

I am sure the insurance lines will be extremely busy today with so many people putting in claims for car and property damage. If you can, put in an online claim and they will get back to you as soon as they can.

What has this summer got installed for us? It has been pretty wild so far.

What a roller coaster for our superannuation funds and investments this year has been.

This is the first year that I have been watching it more closely and keeping an eye on our balances. It certainly can be scary when our supers take a hit. Luckily they bounced back earlier in the year, let’s hope that this current blip does the same.
