How do you purchase a property using your superannuation? ๐Ÿก

If youโ€™ve got a self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) or are looking to set one up, you may be able to purchase a property within the fund.

Hereโ€™s some of the key differences of buying in an SMSF: ๐Ÿ‘‡

โœ…You can't obtain a construction loan โ€“ so you need to buy a fully completed (eg. townhouse/apartment) or an established home

โœ…Your deposit needs to be larger โ€“ at least 20% and up to 30% is required for most properties.

โœ…There are fewer lenders that will fund your purchase, and the rates tend to be a little higher than in your own personal name.
