A few snaps from our recently completed new office fitout....

Construction & Property Development has always been a passion of mine so naturally I was excited by the challenge of designing and building this space for our growing team.

It was a fun (but stressful) few months of wearing both hats of Project Manager and Insurance Broker at the same time. Needless to say I was glad to have everything finished prior to the start of June 2026.

Our staff are loving their new surroundings and I am excited to continue to develop our culture + drive high standards across the business for the rest of 2026 and beyond.

This is one contentious issue that has spent a lot of time in the spotlight of late...

Some clients press for them...

Others prefer to have the Insurer manage the repair process for them following a claim.

It is a personal preference.

Just how Important is Adequate Management of Claims to an Insurance Broker's Value Proposition?

In my opinion it is critical and that is why hiring Belinda Storey is one of the best decisions I have made in 10 years of owning DLB Insurance.

Recently we were appointed on a Mid Market Account that has a Large Heavy Motor & Plant Fleet.

The main reason the client chose to work with us and move Brokers? - They'd been told for a number of years that managing claims was not part of the service agreement and received very little assistance from their now former Insurance Broker.

DLB has two dedicated Claims Managers in Belinda Storey & Chris Redlich so you can be rest assured that when you need us the most - we wont let you down or leave you to your own devices to manage claims yourself.

Meet The Team – Josh Lilburn

Another example of the right skillset joining DLB from a non‑insurance background.

I’ve said it for years. There is a genuine war on talent in our industry. As the MD of an Insurance Brokerage, you can either fuel the problem by poaching competitors’ staff and paying overs, or you can be part of the solution by identifying high‑calibre people outside the industry and giving them the platform to succeed.

That is exactly what we have done with Josh, and it is exactly what we will continue to do as we grow.

DLB is not interested in shortcuts. We build our own talent. I have always believed that certain skills are highly transferable to the Insurance Industry. Customer service and people skills sit at the top of that list.

But success also comes down to qualities you cannot teach. The right attitude. A strong work ethic. A willingness to learn. Being coachable.

When you meet someone who has these attributes, it becomes the employer’s responsibility to create the environment that sets them up for success.

Grant joined DLB in 2023 and has genuinely found his stride.
