💛 A big congratulations and thankyou to all of the members, volunteers, supporters and attendees of the 2026 CWA WA - Capel Branch Biggest Morning Tea fundraising for the Cancer Council Australia.

💛 What an absolutely amazing event that you put on over the weekend!! Attendees were spoilt with an abundance of delicious mouth watering treats, entertainment, fashion, raffles - and so many happy, friendly, smiling faces!!

💛 The Community Bank Capel was represented by our Branch Operations Manager Jo - but after seeing all these photos, you can count all of our team in for next year!!!

🍁 Autumn is the season when the days become shorter, nights start getting colder and the leaves of deciduous trees change colour and prepare to fall.

🍁 This makes it a perfect time to go out and explore in some of our beautiful local nature trails.

🍁 After the rains, Malaga-Ngwan (Ironstone Falls) is a stunning 1.5km round trip walk through jarrah bushland where you’ll find a small tributary from the Capel River, flowing freely over rich, red rock and forming a series of rapids before tumbling over a nine metre ledge.

🍁 Or take a wander on the Tuart Discovery Trail where you will find some of the largest and tallest Tuart trees in the world. This forest is also home to WA's largest remaining wild population of endangered western ringtail possums.

🖤 How lucky are we to have been gifted this special and unique piece of art painted by Indigenous artist Maz Truscott and framed by local man Ian Sharpe.

🖤 Maz is originally from the Arrernte people of Central Australia but this painting represents the different cultures of Indigenous tribes gathering around the Gelorup, Capel and Busselton areas - the traditional lands of the Wadandi Noongar people.

🖤 The Capel River - the Coolinbilya - features in the middle of the painting with boomerangs linking the different cultures and tribes across the water.

🖤 The Wadandi Noongar people believe the Coolinbilya was created by a powerful rainbow serpent known as the Waugal.

🖤 According to Noongar creation stories - the Dreamtime - the Waugal shaped the local landscape and the winding path of the Coolinbilya was formed by the serpent's movements as it journeyed from the hills out to the ocean.
