Episode 4: Types of Insurance

Kuzuzangpo la! Welcome to Episode 3 of OSHC with Druk Infinity. Today, we'll dive into the types of insurance you need and why it matters!"

First, let's get some basics down. If you're the main student applicant, you're the primary student visa holder.
If you're the partner or have dependents, you're a dependent student visa holder.

Now, the three insurance types: Single, Couple, and Family polices

If you’re a primary student? You should get a Single policy.

Partner or family? You'll need to be added as the dependent of the primary student and be covered as Couple or Family policy. Easy, right?"

So, Why does the right policy matter?

Well, if you don’t have the right policy, insurance companies can:
1. report you to immigration for not having the correct policy type.
2. Your Claims may not be paid because of incorrect cover, and
3. They may ask you to change to the right type or switch it by themselves

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a health insurance policy designed for international students in Australia. It is a mandatory requirement for most student visa holders. Make sure to understand the terms and conditions of the policy and maintain your coverage as required by your visa. To make your purchase easy and convenient, we have simplified the payment accepting payment through bank SWIFT transfer just like you pay your tuition fees.

Episode 2: Method of Payment and Fees

Hey there, it's Sonam Euphel again. In this session I am going to talk about the burning questions about payments and fees. Let's dive right in!

So, "In which currency can I pay for my insurance?"

The answer is very easy. You can pay for your insurance in Ngultrum via any bank (BNB, BOB or Tbank) through their SWIFT transfer, just like how you pay your tuition fees.

OR, if you've got your dollars organized by your family or friends in Australia, we can accept that too."

Remember, if you make payment via bank SWIFT transfer, it usually takes about 3 days and there might be a small bank fee for sending money.

But.....in saying that, you get the bank exchange rate which can be much cheaper and more reliable than exchanging from strangers on Facebook marketplaces who charge way more than the bank rate.

The next important questions is, “Do we charge any fees?”
The answer is simply NO! We don't charge any processing fees for our service. You'll only pay for the insurance cost itself. The only extra cost you would pay is the banks transfer fees which also minimal.
