Every Saturday morning there's a burst of excitment at the market as we flag down Pip Lloyd to find out how her daughter Annabel is going on Masterchef!

Yep, one of our very own, Annabel Lloyd, is cooking up a storm in the Masterchef kitchen!

Annabel's Mum, Pip, has been a regular since the start of the market, bringing Annabel from those early days to learn all about produce and the origins of food. The start of a life long love for all things food πŸ’›

If you saw the episode of Annabel filleting a trout, you won't be surprised at her skills, knowing that our own Hayley from Narooma Seafoods taught her how to fillet!

Pip has been proudly keeping us updated every Saturday morning, her smile beaming from ear to ear. We can't wait to watch this exciting journey with the Lloyd family. Go Annabel!

Also wishing all the best to fellow Canberrans, Casper and Jack. We always knew we were a foodie capital - Go show them how it's done!

Happy World Bee Day! The 20th May marks the official day for celebrating our pollinating friends.

Thank you to everyone who came out last Saturday to help us celebrate this important occasion. It’s one of our most enjoyable markets of the year and we thoroughly enjoy seeing our community of producers and shoppers getting involved and enjoying all the food and activities.

A big thank you to:

🐝 Radio for joining us for the day and helping to tell the story of the market and the importance of World Bee Day.

🐝 and the ACT Beekeepers Association for their amazing display and information provided throughout the morning.

🐝 Our amazing volunteers from Rotary Club of Hall for all the fun craft, hand painting and the Slovenian Traditional Honey Breakfast

🐝 Our producers who created the amazing honey themed produce we delighted in all morning and of course, our honey producers who get to hang out with our 🐝 friends all day long.

🐝 Our shoppers who came out to experience our favourite market, especially to those who arrived in full bee-themed outfits!

🐝 And last but not least… our pollinating bee friends for whom we celebrate this day for. Thank you for all your hard work and creating the food and environment that we enjoy so much.

We're buzzing with excitement for tomorrows World Bee Day celebrations at the market 🐝

There's going to be a lot to see and do throughout the morning but what are we most looking forward to? Taking a little wander and eating and drinking our way through the honey-themed treats our producers have created! Because eating and drinking is what we do best 😁

What should you be keeping an eye out for? What about:

The now famous honey macarons from ? Mayil loves creating these each year for us.

Want to go traditional? You can't go past an authentic Bienenstich from . The "Bee Sting" cake of chouz, cream and caramelised almonds, oh my! Steffen will have a few other little honey treats as well.

Our sweetest Sweet Amalia will have a Greek twist on a range of honey treats including honey cakes, a honey & orange rice pudding and the divine Melomakarona (Greek honey Christmas biscuits).

To take the honey theme home, we recommend a limited edition Honey Vodka created by Everyday Legacy.

But to start the morning off, grab a free coffee honey caramel shot with every Unscripted Fermantation & Coffee. They'll also have a range of honey sauces including 'The Sweet One'.

And to acknowledge the founders of World Bee Day, Rotary Club of Hall will be providing a Slovenian Honey Breakfast, offering tasters of bread, honey and apple 🍎

🍯 And of course... You just can't go past a jar of straight-from-the-hive honey! Enjoy a chat with Kevin from from Martin’s Honey and or Kerrie from Isabella 1822 and discover their fabulous range of honey.

Something for everyone this World Bee Day! See you there 🐝
