As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, we came together to recognise and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while reflecting on this year’s theme, 50 Years of Deadly.
Our team took part in a range of cultural learning experiences, including a Lunch & Learn with Tammy Anderson, Principal of Briar Road Public School and recipient of the 2026 Premier’s Teachers Mutual Bank Aboriginal Education Scholarship. Tammy shared insights from her international study tour and the importance of culture, connection and community in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Team members also joined cultural weaving workshops with Cherie Johnson from Speaking in Colour, learning traditional weaving techniques, creating contemporary woven bracelets and contributing to a collaborative artwork that will be displayed in our Shelley Street office.
Thank you to Tammy and Cherie for helping us celebrate, learn and strengthen our connection to First Nations cultures and communities.
