New Government Home Builder Program Key points:

* $25,000 grant for new owner occupied builds valued at under $750,000 including land value
* $25,000 grant for substantial renovations with a minimum spend of $150,000 through contractors (not DIY)
* Available to all, not just first home buyers
* Contracts must be entered into before Dec 31st this year
* No need to rush, available grants aren't capped
* Means tested for singles earning under 125k a year
* Means tested for couples earning less than 200k a year
* The initial 150k for renovations can't include pools, tennis courts, saunas, spas etc
* First home buyers other eligible grants can be used in conjunction with this program

So in short, this program will work for you if you would like to build an owner occupied home where the construction and land is valued under 750k, or if you would like to substantially renovate your property with a minimum cost of 150k.

The RBA have dropped the interest rate by .25% for the Month of March. Keep an eye on your current lender to see if they pass on the full decrease, and don't hesitate to get in touch with Grapevine Mortgages if you would like a free home loan health check and property report.
