Described as the ‘Come back budget’, the initiatives that will help build the road to recovery announced by Treasurer Josh Frydenberg are aimed at bringing the economy ‘roaring back to life’. Cash incentives and a job creation strategy seeks to put more money in the pockets of Australians to spend.

Defending the record debt and deficit levels, the Treasurer commented that there will be something in this Budget for every demographic. Some of the wins? Tax cuts, home buyers, low-income earners, a women’s package, a COVID strategy, a mental health support plan and a revolution in aged care support.

There are potholes along the way as many sectors feel they have been overlooked – particularly hospitality and tourism as international travel is not expected to resume until mid-2022.

Our technical overview outlines the full details of the Federal Budget 2021 announcements.

These days, more and more women are controlling the purse strings. In fact, women control more than a third of the world’s wealth. In the future, greater wage equality and higher rates of inclusion in leadership and entrepreneurial roles will be major factors in driving women’s wealth globally.

Interesting insights from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) about the way women invest. https://on.bcg.com/3vHxPJo

Just another reminder to be nice to your mother, not only on Mother's Day, but every day. After all, it may very well ‘be yours one day’

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!

For too long, wealth managers have looked at the women’s segment through a marketing lens. But women don’t want pink products. They want individualized service. Advisors that fail to adapt will miss out on a $93 trillion opportunity.

There’s no doubt that COVID is continuing to have an enormous impact on our finances.

Whether it’s unemployment, underemployment or working from home, your spending habits will have changed dramatically – your routine morning coffee, takeaway lunch or transport costs to name just a few. Physical distancing will also have had an impact on your social and leisure expenditure. And, of course, your credit card may have taken a hit from entertainment streaming services, online shopping, etc.

Take a minute to consider the cumulative effect this has had on your overall spending. A new year is the perfect time to set a budget and continue your ‘new routines’ and spending habits.

This year will continue to be a difficult year for most, so start the new year with guidance and advice that will help you keep your new year’s financial resolutions on track.

There are times when you need a financial adviser. A good adviser helps you build wealth in a way that suits your daily needs and long-term dreams.

There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a tough year, but there’s so many ways we can help each other and give back to our communities and our environment.

And, while 2020 may be a wrap, let’s not make it literal. Here in Australia, we use enough paper to wrap around the earth’s equator four times?

Did you know that 90% of clients are in a better financial position after accessing the services of a financial adviser?

First and foremost, financial advice is all about listening – listening to you to understand your goals and priorities in life.

This year, we’ve all had our fair share of stress – mental health, relationships, work, finances, the list goes on and on. But perhaps one of the services that’s helped so many during the uncertainty of COVID is the confidence in knowing that their finances are in good hands and particularly to help them avoid making rash decisions at the worst time.

Interesting research conducted by CoreData Group and IOOF Holdings Ltd.

The barriers to seeking advice are perceived rather than actual and are not reflected in the real-life experiences of individuals who receive advice, according to an IOOF survey.

What does the Federal Budget deliver to you and your family?

Last night the Federal Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg, handed down the 2020/21 Federal Budget.

The most important since The Great Depression, this Budget seeks to drive economic recovery by creating and building more jobs, boosting productivity and implementing proposed tax cuts for most Australians with a view to encouraging spending to stimulate the economy.

Importantly, record funding has also been proposed for all sectors of our economy, especially mental health.

In the words of , “The road to recovery will be hard but there is hope. We have your back and we have a plan to rebuild our economy and create more jobs.
Together, Australia will come back.”

Our summary outlines how these proposed changes may impact your financial situation. But, please bear in mind that these Budget announcements still need to be passed by both the House of Representatives and Senate before they become law.
