Foodbank 2025 Impact Report

Foodbank Queensland’s released their FY25 Impact Report, and they remain proud to reflect on a year that was defined by growth, resilience and deepened impact.

Over the last 12 months, they managed to make significant strides towards their vision of ensuring that no Queenslander goes hungry. They opened 2 new Food Distribution Centres in Brisbane and Townsville, now operating from 3 facilities across the state.

In the last 12 months, Foodbank Queensland delivered 22 million meals, supporting 135,000 people every week. Their School Breakfast Program provided 1.1 million breakfasts in the last 12 months, ensuring 52,000 children were supported every school week. 430 schools are included in this programme. I think another important statistic is that 44% of food provided was fresh fruit and vegetables.

The Farm to Families programme also continues to make a significant contribution, shown below:

Foodbank Queensland had a busy winter, but with school holidays upon us again Foodbank Queensland’s Food for Kids Program steps in to keep children and families nourished.

The winter school holidays saw Food Bank pack and deliver a record 6,000 hampers across the state —double their usual effort—thanks to generous support made possible by volunteers and donations.

These hampers were a vital lifeline for families doing it tough, bridging the gap when school meals aren’t available. These efforts will be replicated again for the spring holidays, so this is a good time to show your support, along with Bulimba Business Development and Bookkeeping💜

3rd Foodbank Announcement

Bulimba Business Development and Bookkeeping is proud to celebrate and support a major milestone in the fight against hunger. Foodbank Queensland is officially expanding its reach across the state with the opening of three dedicated Food Distribution Centres, marking a bold new chapter in their mission to feed Queenslanders in need.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, alongside the valued contributions of BM Webb Industrial Property and the Queensland Government, this ambitious expansion is now a reality.

Beginning this year, Foodbank Queensland will operate from:
⦾Two new South-East Queensland Distribution Centres in Brisbane, and
⦾One new North Queensland Distribution Centre in Townsville
Together, these facilities will provide more than double the space currently available, enabling Foodbank to dramatically scale up its services and meet rising demand across the state.

From modest beginnings nearly 30 years ago, Foodbank Queensland has grown to become the largest hunger relief organisation in the state, distributing over 212 million kilograms of food to vulnerable individuals and families.

We are honoured to continue supporting Foodbank Queensland as they make a lasting difference in the lives of so many, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact of these new centres across every corner of the state.

2nd Foodbank Announcement

We’ve completed our first month of donations to Foodbank Queensland and are excited to share how they’re putting our support to work in the community.

This year also marks Foodbank Queensland’s 30th anniversary. Since their humble beginnings, they’ve grown into the state’s largest hunger relief organisation—distributing over 212 million kilograms of food.

Foodbank Queensland ran a ‘No Child Hungry Appeal’ which ran for one day and raised over $343,964 helping to fund 86 School Breakfast Programs for an entire year. This means that thousands of Queensland children will start their school day with a full stomach, ready to learn and thrive. Very close to home, we saw firsthand the difference this makes at Murarrie State School, where breakfast is not just about food—it’s about building a stronger, more connected school community.

Following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, Foodbank Queensland quickly mobilised, delivering 500,000 extra meals to hard-hit areas like the Gold Coast, Logan, and Ipswich.

Celebrating 30 years, Foodbank Queensland has grown from a small operation in Fortitude Valley to the state’s largest hunger relief organisation. From a goal of moving 1 million kg of food per year, they now distribute over 13.7 million kg annually—over 212 million kg since 1995.

Each week, they support 150,000 Queenslanders via 350+ Community Partners, and their School Breakfast Program helps 50,000 students across 400 schools start the day with a meal.
