With people struggling everyday to make ends meet or stretch out to survive pay to pay, I know when it comes to seeing the dollars in a DVA PI offer that it can be tempting to just sign for the money and get it, but sadly, many veterans can end up in a bad way in life post their PI because they do not fully understand how to make their PI last.

Yes some veterans are very good with their money, but we want to see veterans who may not be too good with their money, or struggling with drug and alcohol or mental health reach out to us BEFORE deciding on their PI offer.

We are here to help connect you with experienced veteran and Defence financial advisers, and waiting one more week to speak with an adviser, getting a better understanding of your money could make a positive difference in your life.

This is not about getting you to invest, its about getting you the everyday advice and support you need.

Reach out to us when you get your PI offer to speak with a financial adviser: [email protected]

With all the news around negative gearing, taxing trusts etc., we see people coming out in the media saying they are done with investing......

Horse s**t.

What else are you going to do with your money? Leave it in a bank earning two fifths of bu**er all - that you will still pay tax on!!!

The smart people will keep putting their money to work regardless.

Post Budget property investment view.

We have seen post the budget people that currently have investment properties and other parties (such as some real estate agents), are saying that rents will go up because of the changes.

But why should they?

Simple answer is they shouldn't because of the budget.

For those that are already in property investment, that is just greed kicking in, because your investment property entitlements will be grandfathered, but the changes will impact those coming into property investment now.

However, there are still ways that investing in property can be viable - such as through a new build property (which in turn helps put more housing supply into the market).

Buying a new house and land package can be a good investment strategy for securing a price today, for a property that is delivered in the future, and gets the added benefit of being valued at the suburb price once completed - which is one way that people get the benefit of value uplift.

We see so many people s**t the bed over the changes, and yes some suck, but there is always opportunities out there, and at Veteran Financial Connect, we are here to help you navigate those with the services you can speak to.

🚨 To the just started their Defence career men and women or veterans just getting their PI - listen up.

Way too many of you get that first steady Defence pay or DVA compensation, and immediately go sign for a brand new $90K to $150K truck, car or loaded SUV.

I get it - you want the “I made it” feeling. But that decision is quietly robbing you of a fortune.

That shiny new ride comes with a fat payment, insurance, rego, servicing and depreciation that hits like a truck (pun intended) when you sell it.

You are splashing out money on something that will cost you more once you factor in interest costs on top of your payment, and then will only depreciate everyday you have it.

That fancy truck or car is just a money pit.

Most people make this mistake when they start earning real money.

Don’t be most people.

You have a choice:
Drive the flashy new truck or car, or drive whatever gets you to work reliably and stack serious money in the bank or invest, so you can buy the truck or car (in cash) later - while having a good money in the bank when you’re older.

The new truck will lose value fast.

The money you invest? That compounds for decades.

Choose wisely, brothers and sisters.

Your future you will thank you.

Veteran Financial Connect is here to help support you with identifying invest apps, platforms and opportunities that can help you make your life better off financially.

As an example, we have partnered with an investment fund with a targeted 8% p.a return paid monthly.

Put your money to work better than in an asset that loses value - fast.

Proper planning prevents p**s poor performance - and this absolutely relates to how your financial future ends up.

Sadly, many do not plan for their future and in some cases, don’t even plan for their today.

Better use of DVA compensation payouts, using their income better, self taxing your wage to invest and monthly spending reviews to see where you have those silly little money leaks that you can cull.

Planning for the future you want for yourself and your family takes focus, commitment and then having the balls and backbone to execute on that.
