The Fair Work Commission has announced a 4.75% increase to Australia’s minimum wage, starting 1 July 2026 💼

Here’s what’s changing:
🔹 New minimum wage: $26.44/hour (up from $24.95)
🔹 Full-time 38 hours/week: $1,004.90/week
🔹 Part-time 24 hours/week: $634.56/week

Flu season in Australia usually peaks during the colder months, from June to September - so now is a good time to get protected. 💉

You can get your flu shot at a GP clinic, pharmacy, chemist, or local vaccine clinic.

For 2026, free flu shots are available for:
✅ QLD residents aged 6 months+ (including international students & Working Holiday Visa holders)
✅ WA residents aged 2 years+ (including international students & Working Holiday Visa holders)

In NSW, VIC, SA, TAS, ACT and NT, free flu vaccines are mainly available for NIP-eligible groups, such as young children, pregnant people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people aged 65+, and people with certain medical conditions. Others may need to pay privately.

Before booking, check your state or territory’s latest flu vaccine program and bring your ID, Medicare card if you have one, and any documents needed for free vaccination eligibility.
