Why: "This trader taught me that the lower a person's risk on a trade, the easier it is to cancel a trade if it's going in the wrong direction."

Mark Douglas wrote Trading in the Zone in 2000 and it remains the most referenced book on trading psychology in the world. His central argument was simple and difficult at the same time: the market doesn't beat traders, their beliefs, fears, and illusions do.

Most traders understand this intellectually. Very few apply it with the precision Rata G described.

Douglas taught that real risk acceptance is emotional, not just intellectual. You know you have truly accepted the risk when you can take a loss without emotional disturbance. The reason that acceptance is so hard for most traders is simple, the position is too big. When too much money is on the line, no amount of mental discipline is enough to make the exit feel clean.

The answer Rata G gave is the practical solution to that problem. Keep the risk small enough that the exit costs you nothing emotionally. When exiting a bad trade feels easy, you will actually do it. When you actually do it, your rules have a chance of working. That is the whole game.

The robot does not grab the mouse to take over.

It grabs it to point at the journal.

That is the detail most people miss when they talk about AI replacing traders. The replacement is not happening at the analysis level. Most traders know what the right trade is. They have done the work. The setup is in the journal. The rules are written down.

The problem is the three seconds between knowing and executing where emotion overrides process, where the candle moving the wrong way causes a flinch, where a streak of losses makes a winning setup feel like a losing one.

AI does not have those three seconds. It reads the rule and executes the rule. It cannot feel the market moving against it. It cannot talk itself out of a setup it already validated.

That is not a threat to the good trader. It is the ultimate version of discipline.

Most prop firms ban algorithmic strategies. They restrict EAs. They want to see the human in every decision which means they also get the human emotion in every decision.
