Last Saturday we went to try “Method to the Madness” café on Marshall Lane. Despite the morning rush we managed to secure a dog-friendly table out the front, grateful to have a large shade umbrella on an already-hot day. The staff were friendly and attentive, as were the other patrons. A great café to meet the locals, have a meal or pick up a quick coffee.
Jacquie approved: Jacquie ordered a cappuccino and found the coffee matched expectations. The flavour was great, and the coffee had good strength. Jacquie usually prefers a little more foam, but was delighted overall.
Ben approved: For meals we ordered the much-hyped “Benny’s Gone Mad”, a delicious take on eggs benedict with smoked bacon, a sriracha hollandaise on potato and parmesan rosti. My meal was accompanied by a tasty (and refreshing!) mango smoothie.
Teddy approved: The staff were happy to bring out a high-chair for Teddy, and he loved his Little Eggs and chocolate milkshake.
Nanna approved: The café is dog friendly, with a water bowl provided and lots of pats from the locals. Nanna loved meeting everyone! If you are bringing a four-legged-friend, I would recommend phoning ahead as the front tables can fill up fast on busy days.
Afterwards (in spite of the heat) Teddy, Nanna and I walked down to the Cubberla Creek Reserve playground where Teddy had a blast playing on the swings and meeting some new friends, while Nanna and I explored the creek.
If you see us out and about feel free to come up and say “Hi!” – we love meeting our local community and I may be able to save you some money and effort on your mortgage!
