25 years. And I remember this day like it was yesterday.

My dad was in the country at the time, and for the first 10 days following September 11, we had no way of communicating with him. I don’t think ten days has ever felt quite as long as those ten did.

I remember watching from the other side of the world, trying to comprehend what was unfolding while simply waiting to hear from him.

It was also a day that changed the world forever. The way we travel, the way we move through airports, the way we think about security and, in so many ways, the way we live.

For me, September 11 has never just been a date in history. It’s one of those moments that has stayed incredibly clear, even 25 years later.

Today I remember every life lost, every family forever changed, the first responders, and all those who carry their own memories of that day.

25 years on. We remember. 🇺🇸

Today is R U OK?Day 💛

And I think the most important part of today is remembering that it shouldn’t really be about today.

Check in on your people on the ordinary days too.

The friend who’s gone a little quiet.
The person who seems completely fine.
The one who’s always checking on everyone else.
The one who says, “I’m good” a little too quickly.

Life can get really heavy behind closed doors, and sometimes you simply have no idea what someone is carrying.

You don’t need the perfect words. You don’t need to have the answers.

Just ask.

Are you OK?

And if the answer is no, stay for the conversation. 💛

Today is R U OK?Day.
But any day is a good day to check in.

I’ve got room for a few more good people in my professional circle. 🤝🏼

Not industry specific.
More people specific.

I love working alongside businesses that genuinely care about what happens next for their clients — not just the service sitting in front of them today.

A big part of what I do is looking at the bigger financial picture.

Self-employed and business finance.
SMSF.
Restructuring and refinancing.
Reviewing existing lending and financial positions of any kind.
And finding opportunities to create a better position for future strategy, growth and flexibility.

So I’m opening myself up to a few more referral relationships with businesses that work the same way I do — personally, strategically and with the long-term interests of the client at the centre of it.

You might be an accountant, financial adviser, family lawyer, conveyancer or something completely different.

The title on the door matters far less to me than how you look after the person who walks through it.

If that sounds like your kind of business, say hello.

We can start with a coffee and see if there’s a fit. ☕️🩶

Just a little reminder that your mortgage doesn’t have to stay exactly where you left it. 💚

Yes, rates are moving — but that’s only part of it.

Policies change. Products change. Your circumstances change. And there have been a lot of policy changes lately.

What was available when you took out your loan may look quite different now.

Does that mean you should refinance? Nope.

But does it mean it might be worth having another look? Absolutely.

And sometimes, after looking at everything, staying exactly where you are is the right answer too.

That’s the point of a review. 😊

I take what I do seriously. I just don’t take myself too seriously. That’s pretty much TP. 🤍

RECIPROCATION.

I’ve been thinking about this word a lot today.

I give a lot to people.

My time.
My energy.
My knowledge.
My support.

And I do it willingly. It’s simply part of who I am.

But support feels very different when you discover it only travels in one direction.

That one stings.

Particularly when judgement is made without curiosity, conversation or any genuine attempt to understand the full picture.

Because judgement without knowledge is just assumption.

In my profession, I’m trained to understand the full picture.

Not one number.
Not one piece of paper.
Not one moment in time.

The whole picture.

Ask questions. Understand the circumstances. Get the context.

Because there is usually a story behind the numbers, a circumstance behind the paperwork, and a human being behind all of it.

And I think people deserve the courtesy of being understood before they are assessed.

Not agreed with.
Not given special treatment.
Not having rules bent for them.

Understood.

There’s a very big difference.

Today reminded me to pay a little more attention to where I put my energy.

I’ll always be generous with my support. That’s not something I intend to change.

But perhaps I can be a little wiser about where I invest it.

Reciprocation matters.
Context matters.
The full story matters.

Always.

TP xx

🌼 SPRING CLEAN 🌼

Apparently it’s that time of year. 🍄

My linen cupboard? Perfect. No notes. 🙃

The endless washing pile? Different conversation. 😆

And the collection of shoes my kids apparently no longer remember owning? Honestly, it’s disturbing. 🤯

But while we’re spring cleaning the house, it’s also a pretty good time to spring clean the finances. 📈

And no — cancelling Netflix is not suddenly going to get you approved for a home loan.

That’s not the reality of it.

This is about the long game.

Go through the subscriptions. Cancel the ones you genuinely don’t use. Keep the ones you do — weekends, downtime and streaming your favourite series are all part of having a life.

Look at what’s automatically coming out every month.

Look at your spending.
Look at your savings.
And actually look at your bank statements.

Good financial habits aren’t created the week before you need finance. They’re built over time, month after month, when you don’t need anything at all.

Because you never really know what might come up — a new car, a property opportunity, a refinance, an investment or simply something completely unexpected.

And we’re heading into what can easily become one of the most expensive parts of the year.

Christmas. 🎄 Summer holidays. 🏖️Travel. Entertaining. Or perhaps you’re chasing winter somewhere else entirely. ✈️

So now is a very good time to tidy things up. 🧼

Balance matters. ⚖️

Enjoy your money. Keep the things that make life good. Have the streaming service. Order the takeaway. Book the holiday. 🫶🏻

Just know where your money is going and keep the bigger picture in mind.

We spring clean the cupboards, wardrobes and everything else inside our homes.

Maybe it’s time to spring clean the inside of our finances too. 🌼

I’ll be over here dealing with the washing.

Here I am again… popping up around the place locally. 😆☺️😊

The support I receive from local businesses is something I’ll always reciprocate. Loyalty matters to me, authenticity matters to me, and I’ve always liked keeping business personal.

I may not look quite like the photo every day — but I’ll still stop for a chat, especially if numbers are involved. 🫶🏻

At the end of the day, I’m just a mum doing loans, building something of my own, and trying to do it in a way that still feels very me.

And in the spirit of Notting Hill…

I’m just a girl, standing in front of the locals, asking them to talk numbers with me. 🤭

And while we’re talking numbers… my $250 BP gift card promo for settled car loans is still running until 31 October. 🚗⛽

Big thanks to DC Dry Cleaning Centre for another little patch of local real estate.💙
