25 years. And I remember this day like it was yesterday.
My dad was in the country at the time, and for the first 10 days following September 11, we had no way of communicating with him. I don’t think ten days has ever felt quite as long as those ten did.
I remember watching from the other side of the world, trying to comprehend what was unfolding while simply waiting to hear from him.
It was also a day that changed the world forever. The way we travel, the way we move through airports, the way we think about security and, in so many ways, the way we live.
For me, September 11 has never just been a date in history. It’s one of those moments that has stayed incredibly clear, even 25 years later.
Today I remember every life lost, every family forever changed, the first responders, and all those who carry their own memories of that day.
25 years on. We remember. 🇺🇸
