At Personal Risk Professionals, we see every day how closely financial wellbeing and mental wellbeing are connected.

That’s why this June; our team is proud to be taking part in The Push-Up Challenge - a nationwide initiative raising awareness and funds for mental health.

Across the month, our team will complete thousands of push-ups while learning and sharing important facts about mental health in Australia. It’s a small physical challenge with a much bigger purpose: starting conversations, breaking stigma, and supporting better outcomes for people in need.

In our work within life insurance and claims, we also see firsthand how life can change unexpectedly - and how important it is to have support systems in place, both financially and emotionally. Mental health is a key part of that picture.

We’re proud to get behind an initiative that aligns so strongly with the work we do and the people we support every day.

Premium volatility across the Australian life insurance market is becoming harder to ignore, with many clients experiencing significant increases year after year, particularly within stepped premium structures.

At the same time, we’re seeing growing concern around pricing volatility, where new entrants to the market are sometimes able to access similar policies at lower premiums than long-standing existing clients. For consumers, that can understandably feel confusing and unfair.

So why is this happening? The reality is there are a number of pressures impacting insurers simultaneously, rising claims costs, changing lapse rates, economic conditions, reinsurance costs, regulatory reform, and the long-term sustainability challenges that have impacted the sector over recent years. Insurers are continually repricing risk to ensure products remain viable into the future.

But while there may be valid reasons behind premium movements, the client experience still matters. For many people, receiving another increase at renewal time raises an important question:

“Am I still in the right policy for my needs and budget?”

Corey Evans, Life Risk Adviser shares “That’s where quality advice becomes critical. Life insurance should never be treated as “set and forget.” Regular reviews, understanding policy structures, and reassessing cover over time can help clients make informed decisions and maintain confidence in their protection strategy.

As an industry, there is also an opportunity to continue improving transparency and communication around pricing changes. Greater clarity helps clients better understand not only what they are paying for - but why.

Because ultimately, life insurance exists to provide peace of mind in uncertain times, and trust remains one of the most important parts of that equation.

State of Origin fever has hit the office today.

Three members of the PRP team have turned up proudly dressed in maroon and ready for tonight’s game, even if we think some of them may have done it unintentionally 😉

Safe to say the Queensland spirit is strong. Good luck to both sides tonight, although we all know who we’ll be cheering for!

This month, PRP turned 17.

Seventeen years of supporting clients through life’s unexpected moments.

Seventeen years of relationships, growth, challenges, and milestones.

And seventeen years of doing work that genuinely matters.

What started as a vision has grown into a business built on trust, advocacy, and people, our incredible clients, referral partners, and team.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. Thank you for your support, loyalty, and belief in what we do.

Here’s to the next chapter

The team at Personal Risk Professionals came together to support Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, helping raise awareness for people impacted by cancer.

In our work within life insurance claims, we see firsthand every day the impact cancer has on people’s lives, not just medically, but emotionally and financially. It’s a reminder of why support, protection, and community matter so much.

It was also a great opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and connect as a team while backing an important cause that touches so many families.

We also had the special bonus of celebrating Abbie’s birthday, making it an even more meaningful morning shared together.

Looking ahead, what are the biggest opportunities and challenges facing the industry?

In this Q&A, Dan Waller, Head of Distribution at PPS Mutual, and Mark Everingham, Managing Director at Personal Risk Professionals (PRP), discuss the road ahead, including the importance of adapting to change, recognising growth opportunities, and continuing to strengthen outcomes for clients and the broader profession.

An important conversation on the future of advice and the role strong businesses will play in shaping it.

Strong referral relationships are not built on transactions, they are built on trust, consistency and genuine investment over time.

In this Q&A, we reflect on the value of relationships that go beyond the commercial and why the strongest partnerships are the ones grounded in shared values and mutual respect.

That mindset has helped shape how we work, how we support our partners, and how we continue to grow.

This Mother’s Day, we recognise all the people who show up, care, and quietly hold things together for others.

Mums, grandmothers, step-parents, carers, mentors, and anyone who takes on that role in someone’s life, today is a chance to acknowledge the impact you have, often without it being said enough.

At PRP, we understand that care comes in many forms, and so does responsibility. Wishing you a day where you feel seen, appreciated, and supported.

In business, there are always things outside your control. The real difference comes from focusing on what you *can* control, your values, your standards, your people, and the way you show up every day.

In this Q&A, we reflect on the importance of staying focused on the controllables and why “growing our own” has been such an important part of the PRP story.

By investing in people, building capability from within, and staying true to what matters most, sustainable growth follows.

Building on our first video, where Mark shares the personal story behind why PRP was started, this next conversation explores how that foundation has shaped the business today.

Since 2009, PRP has grown with a clear purpose: to build a business grounded in expertise, genuine client care, and trust.

PRP is proud to position ourselves as the life insurance subject matter experts for our professional partners who, just like us, are committed to delivering high quality, client focused service at every stage of the financial journey.

That focus has never changed. It’s how we’ve built strong relationships and grown organically over time.
