From 5 December 2025, the Australian Government’s Help to Buy Scheme launches, with Commonwealth Bank currently the only major bank participating.

This Government initiative may allow eligible buyers to:
• Purchase a home with as little as a 2% deposit
• Receive a Government contribution of up to 30% for existing homes or 40% for new builds
• Avoid Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI)

• More homes included with higher property price caps (income caps removed)
• Unlimited places available

📉 RBA Cuts the Cash Rate to 3.85% – As Expected

In today’s atest meeting, the Reserve Bank of Australia reduced the official cash rate by 25 basis points, bringing it down from 4.10% to 3.85%. This marks the second rate cut this year, reflecting easing inflation and a cooling economy.

📢 Following the RBA’s decision, Commonwealth Bank will decrease home loan variable interest rates by 0.25% p.a., effective Friday 30 May 2025.

This change may create opportunities for customers to review their lending arrangements. Whether you’re:
