Soil Carbon Project

Soil Carbon Project This project is led by Pedaga and Future Food Network and co-funded between Pedaga Investments and Meat and Livestock Australia.

This project aims to assess the ability of biomineral fertilisers to increase soil carbon sequestration, while maintaining productivity and profitability in relation to best practice conventional fertiliser use.

The project team have been working hard in the background getting all the plans set in place for the project to run smoothly over the next 3 years. The main trial site is located in Bridgetown, with another 3 sites locked in for demonstrations - one also in Bridgetown and the others in Witchcliffe and Benger.

A big thank you to these farmers who have volunteered to have these demonstration trials on their properties.

We have also organised our first project event, which is a Carbon Farming Virtual Workshop and Field Walk! Originally it was going to be held at the demonstration site in Benger, but has moved to a virtual event due to covid restrictions. It will be held on the 7th April from 2pm - 5pm. We are always looking for interested producers to join our soil carbon producer group, so if you would like to sign up to that group, please email [email protected] and complete the following survey: https://forms.gle/atYTyMn2wNmUk6TU9.
