THANK YOU THURSDAY ⭐

In January 2027, the Taralga Australia Day Rodeo will mark 60 years and behind every one of those years are volunteers who have generously given their time to make it happen.

Their contribution extends well beyond the rodeo itself. The team also hosts the Taralga Campdraft each November with both events bringing competitors and spectators to town, supporting local businesses and giving the community plenty to be proud of.

We’re proud to have the Taralga Rodeo and Campdraft Association as members of Community Bank BDCU. Like us, they believe in supporting the people and organisations that keep country communities strong.

To everyone who has played a part in this local tradition over the past six decades, thank you.

We can’t wait to see Taralga celebrate this special milestone in 2027!

🎉 Celebrating 100 years of the Moss Vale CWA! 🎉

Amy and Noelle from Community Bank BDCU were proud to attend a special celebration acknowledging the Moss Vale CWA’s 100-year anniversary. An incredible milestone for an organisation that has played such an important role in our community.

A huge thank you to the Moss Vale CWA team for their efforts in bringing everyone together to mark this special occasion.

100 years of community, connection and service is certainly something worth celebrating. Congratulations to the Moss Vale CWA on this wonderful milestone, and thank you for all you continue to do for our community. 💙

Meet Shannon 👋

For almost eight years, Shannon has loved helping our members reach their goals, especially when that means getting into their next home. What makes the role even more rewarding is knowing that Community Bank BDCU is locally owned and our profits are invested back into the community.

That community connection has also given Shannon the opportunity to volunteer with a number of local groups and organisations over the years which she’s really enjoyed.

For Shannon, that’s what working at Community Bank BDCU is all about, helping local people while being part of something that gives back.

THANK YOU THURSDAY ⭐ Sweetly baked by shena

For Shena, baking is about being part of the moments that mean the most.

Through her Goulburn-based business, Sweetly Baked by Shena, she creates custom cakes and cookies for birthdays, special events, markets and bake sales.

Some orders stay with her long after they’ve left the kitchen, like the cake she made for a 90th birthday, which meant so much to the customer that she became emotional when collecting it. Shena also uses her baking to support the community, recently donating the love heart cake pictured to a Can Assist fundraiser.

After experiencing the personal service at Community Bank BDCU, Shena decided to move her banking to us. She values dealing with local people who know the community and are always easy to talk to.

Thank you Shena for sharing your creativity, making people happy and giving back to the Goulburn community.

You can find Sweetly Baked by Shena at the Goulburn Rotary Market on the second Saturday of each month 🧁

THANK YOU THURSDAY ⭐ Taralga Agricultural, Pastoral & Horticultural Show

This week, we’re recognising the Taralga Show Society and the dedicated volunteers who bring the Taralga Show to life each year.

Held each March, the Taralga Show has been a much loved local tradition since the 1880s. For more than 140 years, generations of volunteers have given their time to bring the community together and showcase local agriculture, horses, livestock, arts, crafts and entertainment for the whole family.

“A country show only happens because a community comes together.” - Amy Curran, Taralga Show Society

We’re proud that the Taralga Show Society chooses to bank with Community Bank BDCU, valuing local people who understand their organisation and share their commitment to the Highlands and Tablelands.

Thank you to the entire Taralga Show Society team for the time and care you put into keeping this important local tradition alive. Be sure to show your support when the Taralga Show returns in March 2027!

🦘 Supporting our local wildlife through collective action 🌿

Great to see The Collective Impact Community Grants Program in action again, with $8,000 going to the Southern Highlands Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is working to protect Australia’s native wildlife, with a particular focus on the critically endangered koala, through wildlife rescue, research, habitat renewal and education.

It’s a great example of what can happen when our community comes together to support organisations making a real difference locally.

Together, through collective action, we can help protect our wildlife and create a stronger future for our region. 💚

🐨 Investing in People, Places and our Communities: $8,000 Grant to Southern Highlands Wildlife Sanctuary

When our community comes together, we can make a real difference; for people, places and wildlife. 🌿

We’re proud to award an $8,000 Collective Impact Community Grant to the Southern Highlands Wildlife Sanctuary, supporting their work to help prevent the extinction of Australia’s native wildlife, with a particular focus on the critically endangered koala.

Based in Bundanoon, the Sanctuary is developing a dedicated centre focused on wildlife rescue, research, habitat renewal and environmental education. Their vision goes well beyond caring for individual animals — it’s about creating long-term solutions to biodiversity loss through science, community and conservation.

This grant will help support an organisation working to create a lasting impact for our region and Australia’s native wildlife. 🐨💚

We believe in backing people and organisations who are building stronger, more sustainable communities — and the Southern Highlands Wildlife Sanctuary is doing exactly that.

Through collective action, we can protect our native wildlife and give them a future where they can thrive.
