💛 A BIG thank you, Sunshine Coast and Gympie!
Because of you, Wishlist Spring Carnival 2026 has delivered a huge win for women's health.
With more than $415,000 raised on the day we can now go shopping to fund life-changing and life-saving equipment to help diagnose and treat breast cancer and endometriosis as identified by our local medical staff and patients.
Wishlist CEO Brendan Hogan said the 17th Wishlist Spring Carnival has done exactly what it set out to do deliver vital medical equipment and bring even better healthcare closer to home for local women.
"The people of the Sunshine Coast and Gympie have shown once again they are the most generous people in the country, thank you so much," Brendan said.
"A huge thank you to our sponsors, whose support made this iconic event possible major sponsors Pacific Land Rover and Travis Schultz & Partners, along with Poole Group, Toomey Family Law, Billy J, KPAT Hotels, Loanright Financial Services, Ray White Maroochydore and Buderim, and Event Sponsors Sunshine Coast Convention Centre & Encore."
Wishlist is the Sunshine Coast and Gympie's local hospital charity, and every dollar raised at Spring Carnival goes towards improving our five public hospitals.
🔬 Top of the list: the Sentimag surgical guidance system shared between Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Gympie Hospital which uses magnetic fields to locate tumours and lymph nodes.
Dr Emilia Dauway, Clinical Director of Surgery and Critical Care for Sunshine Coast Health, says it's a gamechanger: "This new technology is going to transform the breast cancer journey for our patients at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Gympie Hospital. It will allow our surgeons, with precision, to remove less breast tissue, preserving the breast."
Funds will also go towards Myosure and hysteroscope equipment for endometriosis diagnosis and treatment - enabling minimally invasive procedures with shorter surgery times, fewer complications and faster recovery for local women.
Thank you for backing local healthcare. This is what community generosity makes possible.
Wishlist Spring Carnival Chair Dan Sowden said the event continues to grow to match the increase in health needs across the region.
“From the very beginning,” Dan said, “Wishlist was built on one simple but powerful question, asked of our medical teams: “How can we help, and what do you need?”
“And while the needs of our health workers will continue to grow, so too must our efforts. Wishlist Spring Carnival has no finish line.”
