Crawford & Co's latest Claims Inflation Update confirms the shift is now entrenched. Rising repair costs, labour shortages and longer rebuild timeframes are no longer a short-term disruption - they're becoming the new normal in Australia's insurance market.

For property owners, this creates a real and growing risk. Sums insured that were accurate even 12–18 months ago may already fall short of what it would cost to rebuild today.
