Victorian Payroll Tax Annual Reconciliations are due by Tuesday 21 July.

Do you use SMS with a branded sender ID to communicate with customers?

From 1 July 2026, businesses using branded SMS sender IDs need to register with the SMS Sender ID Register.

If you're not registered, your messages could appear as "Unverified" on your customers' phones, potentially reducing trust and increasing the chance they'll be ignored or grouped with scam messages.

This could affect important communications such as appointment reminders, overdue payment notices, marketing campaigns, and customer updates.

While everyone is being bombarded with alerts about Pay Day Super, you may have missed the Fair Work Commission announcing a 4.75% increase to the National Minimum Wage.

Most employees are covered by an industry award, and updated minimum pay rates are expected to be released before 1 July 2026.

The new rates for each award will apply from the first full pay period on or after 1 July. For example, employers who use a weekly Monday to Sunday pay period must be applying the increased rate for hours worked on Monday 6th July.

Luckily, DDR is a registered BAS Agent, and there is still enough time to prepare your March BAS before the extended deadline of Tuesday 26 May
