After the government's budget announcement last week, what are your thoughts on the changes they have made to things like negative gearing?

The real impact that scrapping negative gearing will have on borrowing capacity will ultimately come down to how the lenders respond.

Most lenders already assess investment loans at higher rates to stress-test your servicing, with many factoring negative gearing benefits into their calculators.

They will now need to review their policies, servicing calculators and loan products in response to the budget announcement.

So the question is, how will each lender choose to interpret and implement these changes?
