🏀 How good is it to have your own logo on the back of your team's basketball tops?

Mixing up the colours a bit, and replacing our usual charcoal grey for a teal and it doesn’t look too bad at all!

The pressure is already on, with the shirts' first outing resulting in a win! Whether it was the new uniforms or pure basketball talent, we'll let the team decide. We'll see if the team can keep the streak alive for the rest of the season.

Canola is putting on a show across the district, with crops looking fantastic and paddocks glowing yellow as far as the eye can see.

We spend plenty of time on the road visiting clients, and scenes like this are one of the perks of the job.

The Occupational Hazards of Farm Visits

At DFFS, we pride ourselves on getting out and about to visit our clients on-farm, see their operations firsthand, and better understand their businesses.

While most visits involve great conversations, plenty of kilometres on country roads, and a strong coffee or two, sometimes there are a few unexpected hazards along the way…

Recently, one of our brokers discovered that not all farm residents are happy to see visitors, after receiving a rather enthusiastic welcome from a protective magpie! 😳

Fortunately, no brokers were harmed in the making of this client visit, just a newfound appreciation for magpie nesting season!

Thanks to our clients for always making us feel welcome... even if the local wildlife occasionally has other ideas! 😂

🚜 Client Spotlight🐄 From Paddock to Product 🌱

We love seeing our clients continue to innovate and find new ways to add value to what they produce.

What started as a quality beef cattle operation has now continued to grow with an exciting new venture which runs alongside the operation, with the launch of a range of tallow-based skincare products. By making use of a by-product from their existing livestock enterprise, they've created a premium product while developing an additional income stream for the business.

It's a fantastic example of how Australian farming businesses continue to evolve, adapt, and uncover new opportunities.

A lot of hard work goes into turning an idea into a business, and we're excited to see where this journey takes them.
We look forward to watching the business continue to grow.

Not all broker visits end with clean tyres.

The best finance conversations don't always happen in the office. Sometimes they're held in a paddock, beside a machinery shed, or over a cup of tea at the kitchen table. ☕️
