Changes to the Australian Government Home Guarantee Scheme take effect today

With the introduction of no income limits First Home Buyers have the ability to purchase their first home with as little as 5% deposit plus stamp duty and costs.
Purchase price caps for some areas have also been increased.

At Tuesday's RBA Meeting the Board voted to put interest rates on hold. Mortgage holders will now have to wait until August at the earliest to get further interest rate relief.

The RBA delivered much needed interest rate relief for mortgage holders, slashing the official cash rate today. According to Canstar, an owner-occupier with a $600,000 mortgage today and 25 years remaining on their loan could see their monthly repayments fall by a further $91 on the back of today's 0.25 basis point rate cut. The RBA have also left the door open to further rate cuts to come, which is great news for mortgage holders.
