Faster access to minor home modifications
It is now easier and quicker to get the minor home modifications you need.
The type of assessment you need is different depending on the cost of the minor home modification.

Category A - If the home modification is less than $10,000 and doesn’t involve changes to the bathroom floor, you can get an assessment from your OT.
Category B - If the home modification is $10,000 or more, or involves a change to the bathroom floor, you will need an assessment from a home modification assessor (opens in new window). This is an OT who is qualified to assess more detailed home modifications.

Changes to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS Award)
From 1 July 2022, the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS Award) changed to introduce a minimum 2-hour engagement period for casual and part-time home care workers.

This is an increase from the previous minimum engagement period of one-hour.

It is important to understand that changes to the Award do not impact, change or reduce your NDIS plan.

It is now easier and quicker to get the minor home modifications you need. You no longer need to give us quotes from your builder if your home modifications are non-structural and under $20,000, unless you live in a remote or very remote region (opens in new window) where a quote is still important....
