Finance Recap | July ✈️

What a way to kick off the new financial year.

Another month with over $9M in settlements, just one delayed settlement away from a new personal record.

July was a rewarding month. I helped a close friend purchase his first home, and another lifelong friend secure finance to build his dream home.

This month I also helped:

* 🏡 6 first home buyers purchase their first home
* 📈 6 investors expand their property portfolios
* 💰 3 clients access equity to achieve their next goals
* 🔑 2 families upgrade into their next home

NAB recently reported a 15% decline in home loan applications during the June quarter. While borrowing conditions continue to tighten, this has been the busiest period of my career.

A huge thank you to every client and referral partner who continues to recommend my services. I never take your support for granted.

August will also be a milestone for me. It will be the first time I’ve taken a holiday since starting my business.

I’ll be travelling to Lebanon from 7th August to 14th September to spend time with my family.

I’ll still be available via email and will continue assisting clients throughout the trip, but I’m looking forward to slowing down and finally seeing my sister again.

My First Clawback 🦅

After three years as a mortgage broker, I finally experienced my first clawback.

It wasn’t because a client refinanced or sold their home. Those things happen.

It was because a client chose to use another broker.

He reached out beforehand to apologise. He explained it wasn’t because of my service and that I’ve always looked after him, but that he had a close relationship with another broker. He even offered to cover my loss of commission.

Surprisingly, I wasn’t frustrated. I was proud.

It took three years for a client to go elsewhere, and it wasn’t because I’d failed them.

It reinforced the strength of the relationships I’ve built with my clients.

I don’t disappear after settlement.

I’m there for rate reviews, equity updates, restructuring conversations, new scenarios, new strategies, and the random phone calls that have nothing to do with a new loan.

Whether it’s a quick question or a complex scenario, my clients know they can pick up the phone and I’ll be there.

Loyalty isn’t something you’re entitled to.
It’s something you earn, over and over again.

Every call returned.
Every problem solved.
Every promise kept.

A loan is just a transaction.
A relationship is a commitment.

Finance Recap | June 🏁

And just like that, FY25–26 comes to a close.

June was a month I’ll never forget!

Not only did I achieve my highest settlement month to date, but it also marked three years since I became a mortgage broker.

When I started this journey in July 2023, I had ambition, passion and big dreams. I never imagined reaching milestones like these so early in my career.

Starting a business is never easy. There are moments of self-doubt. Long days. Sleepless nights. Months without pay. You put yourself out there and hope people will trust you. Then one client recommends you to a friend. That friend tells their family. Before you know it, you’ve built something you once only dreamed of.

Behind every loan is a story. Someone who has sacrificed, saved, worked tirelessly and dreamed of achieving something bigger. Being trusted to play a small part in those journeys is something I’ll never take for granted.

To every client, referral partner, family member and friend who has supported me over the past three years, thank you. Every review, recommendation and referral has helped build this business. I genuinely appreciate every single one of you.

Finance Recap | May 📈

Another strong month in the books!

May brought plenty of uncertainty. An increase in the cash rate, major changes to negative gearing and the capital gains tax discount, and plenty of conversations with clients trying to navigate what it all means for their future.

Despite the noise, people are still taking action.

This month I helped:
• 11 First Home Buyers enter the market 🏡
• 4 families upgrade into their next home 🔑
• 8 clients refinance and unlock equity 📈
• 4 investors expand their portfolio 📊

I’ve seen a significant increase in enquiries from families looking to upsize their home, parents purchasing alongside their children to help them enter the market, and investors exploring property through their SMSF. If you want to discuss your options, I’d love to assist!

Meet Nawid 👨🏻‍⚕️

Two years ago, Nawid and I first met while he was studying nursing and working casually.

We mapped out a plan for his first home, comparing his borrowing capacity at the time to what it could look like in the future.

Nawid trusted the process and we stayed in touch. Since then, he’s finished his degree, stepped into a full-time nursing role, and has now officially secured his first home.

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been helping not just Nawid, but also his parents, brothers and sister with their finances over the years.

The unconditional trust that entire families place in me as their finance broker is something I’m truly grateful for.

Finance Recap | April ♾️

What an incredible month!

In truth, it was also one of the most stressful.
Settlement deadlines with unconditional contracts.
Large deposits on the line.
Last-minute pivots around restrictions that aren’t even written in policy.

But this month was special.

• I helped two of my closest friends secure finance for their land
• I helped my best mate’s sister purchase her first home
• I helped one of my very first clients upsize for his growing family
• I helped multiple clients refinance out of HomeStart and third-tier lenders into sharper rates, saving hundreds each month
• I helped 15 clients secure their first investment property
• I helped 9 First Home Buyers get into the market

Amid the pressure, the long days, and the sleepless nights, there’s nothing like seeing the excitement on a client’s face when it all comes together. That feeling never gets old.

I genuinely love what I do.
I’ll never take it for granted.
