Only 9% of people in the UK are currently on track for what Pensions UK defines as a comfortable retirement.
But the more useful question is what a comfortable retirement looks like for you - and whether your current plans are likely to support it.
According to the latest Retirement Living Standards referenced in our article, a comfortable retirement is estimated to require £45,400 a year for one person or £62,700 for a couple. Your own requirements may be very different, depending on your lifestyle, existing pensions, other assets and the income you expect to need.
