A documented continuity plan does not show whether critical services can recover within the limits your board has approved.

The CBUAE Operational Risk Management Regulation has been in force since 14 September 2026 for licensed financial institutions. It requires boards to oversee operational resilience and ensure the operational risk framework receives an effective, independent internal audit review.

That review should ask practical questions:

βœ“ Have critical operations and their dependencies been identified?
βœ“ Do recovery plans reflect the board’s tolerance for disruption?
βœ“ Are third-party dependencies covered?
βœ“ Is there evidence that controls and plans have been tested?

KGRN’s internal audit team can review the control framework, assess the supporting evidence and identify gaps for management to address.

The best time to uncover an integration gap is before you sign.

With 22 days left to appoint your ASP, make your provider discussions specific to how your business bills.

Bring a representative set of invoices and credit notes from every billing system you use. Include different VAT treatments and billing scenarios, so the discussion covers more than your simplest transaction.

Use those examples to establish:
β€’ Which required data your systems already capture.
β€’ Where missing fields or manual corrections need attention.
β€’ How invoice data will move between your ERP and the ASP.
β€’ What configuration, testing and support the proposed scope includes.

These answers help you evaluate the implementation work alongside the provider’s proposal.

KGRN can help review your invoice data, identify integration needs and plan the configuration and testing required for your existing ERP or accounting software.

A profitable business can still carry hidden financial, tax and operational risks.

Before an acquisition, investment or business partnership, decision-makers need more than management presentations and headline figures.

KGRN’s due diligence review can help assess:
βœ“ Quality and sustainability of earnings
βœ“ Assets, liabilities and working capital
βœ“ Tax exposures and compliance gaps
βœ“ Related-party transactions
βœ“ Customer and supplier concentration
βœ“ Financial controls and reporting quality
βœ“ Key risks affecting the proposed transaction
The objective is not simply to verify the numbers.

It is to understand what is driving them, identify what may have been overlooked and determine how the findings could affect the transaction.

Know what you are committing to before you sign.

During a pre-filing review for a UAE business, our team found that several balances in the financial records could not be directly reconciled with the proposed Corporate Tax treatment.

The issue was not missing transactions. It was missing clarity.

KGRN worked with the client to:
βœ“ Reconcile key ledger balances
βœ“ Review related-party transactions
βœ“ Separate accounting and tax treatments
βœ“ Organise supporting schedules and documents
βœ“ Establish a clear review trail for the return

The objective was not simply to complete a filing form. It was to ensure that the figures could be explained and supported if reviewed later.

Good Corporate Tax compliance begins before data is entered into EmaraTax.

An unreconciled VAT balance.

An invoice without sufficient support.

A transaction recorded under the wrong tax treatment.

A return that does not match the accounting records.

These issues may appear small individually, but they can create significant complications during a tax review or audit.

KGRN’s Tax Health Check can cover:

βœ“ VAT returns and ledger reconciliation
βœ“ Corporate Tax readiness
βœ“ Supporting documentation
βœ“ Related-party transactions
βœ“ Tax registrations and filing history
βœ“ Potential gaps requiring corrective action

The outcome is a clear view of what is compliant, what requires attention and what should be addressed first.

Do not wait for a penalty or audit notice to understand your tax position.

31 December 2026 is not the date to begin ICFR preparation.

For UAE-listed companies within the applicable SCA framework, the extended ICFR trial phase runs until the end of 2026.

This makes the current period critical for evaluating controls, documenting gaps and completing remediation.

A practical ICFR readiness programme should cover:
βœ“ Financial reporting risks
βœ“ Entity and process-level controls
βœ“ Control ownership and documentation
βœ“ Design and operating effectiveness testing
βœ“ IT general controls
βœ“ Identified deficiencies and remediation

KGRN can support businesses across the ICFR lifecycle, from risk assessment and control design to testing, documentation and remediation support.

Weak controls require time to identify, correct and retest. Start before reporting pressure begins.

A VAT penalty does not always have to be accepted as final.

In a recent case, penalties were imposed on a taxpayer by the Federal Tax Authority.

After reviewing the decision, KGRN identified valid grounds for reconsideration and submitted the application within the prescribed timeframe, supported by the relevant records, explanations and regulatory basis.

The result: the FTA reversed the penalties.

What made the difference?

βœ“ A detailed review of the FTA decision
βœ“ Valid and defensible grounds
βœ“ Complete supporting documentation
βœ“ Submission within the applicable timeframe
A successful outcome is never guaranteed. Every case depends on its facts, evidence and legal grounds.
However, when a penalty appears incorrect, it should be properly assessed before the reconsideration window closes.
