Finally, after the lockdown & all, we were now able to visit our hometown before I even go back to UAE in few days time. It was a very short 3-days visit but I could say that the time I spent with my family is worth more than gold. It was seriously difficult seeing them as we waved goodbye considering the years we haven't seen & will not see each other again for years. Heartbreaking, but that's how it is for us OFW's. I CALL IT SACRIFICIAL LOVE! Separation anxiety is real, but us OFWs', we have to overcome it for the love of family.
Also, with us is Bailey, our dog, where we decided to let her stay with my parents in the province for good, as she is growing so fast; we thought it would be so much better for her to live in the province coz she has more space to move & fresh air to breath. Guess what, she felt ill & sad a few days back, coz maybe she can feel that she will be apart with us for a long period of time. My mom told us yesterday, that she's got no appetite & she just slept the whole day yesterday. Believe me, I was sad leaving her & misses her much even though I'm not a dog lover, but my 2-months with her, made me feel that separation anxiety is real. π
THIS IS MY STORY! What's your sepanx story?
OFW REALIZATION:
Even Bailey, who is a dog had experienced SEPARATION ANXIETY. I could only imagine how Overseas Filipino Workers even ex-pats feels when they leave their families to their home country & go abroad & earn a living. I can imagine the pain they've been through, leaving their children not seeing them grow by their side, husbands leaving their wives, or vice versa for the sake of giving their children a good life. I'm 100% sure that it's hard, mentally agonizing, depressing & excruciatingly painful for both parties, OFWs & their families. But again it takes SACRIFICIAL LOVE to leave families & love ones back home to give a good life to the people they left behind.
My take here is, as an OFW let's make use of our time & sacrifices wisely. Make a wise decision where you invest your time & hard-earned money so that we will not void the sacrifices we have made & will not regret one day. Same with the people we leave behind, pls make a wise decision where you will spend the hard-earned money of those people who sacrificed, working hard to give a good life for you.
SEPARATION ANXIETY IS REAL. WHAT'S YOUR story. Care to share it with us?
