Worth Reading!
We oftentimes use Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) (Ibuprofen, Aleve, Excedrin and Advil) for pain and inflammation. We think they’re relatively harmless.⠀
❓Did you know that when NSAIDs first came out, they were only allowed by prescription? They were considered so potent that the prescription was only allowed for 2 weeks.⠀
💊NSAIDs were introduced in the 1970s as an alternative to aspirin because aspirin was known to damage the stomach lining.
🕳But NSAIDs damages the mucosal barrier in the small and large intestine. Studies have shown that they create holes in the intestinal barrier.
❓What does this do to your body?⠀
🦠It lets the contents of your digestive system including bacteria and proteins, enter to your body. Our immune system acts up to protect ourselves from these foreign invaders.⠀
Enter disease and autoimmune disorders.⠀
Enter inflammation. Enter pain from the holes.⠀
♾So then we take MORE NSAIDs to deal with the pain.⠀
Welcome to the vicious cycle of pain and inflammation.⠀
🥇NSAIDs are now the number-one-selling drug. One-time prescription-only, for 2 weeks at a time, medicine is now the number one selling drug.⠀
🔥Oh and they are ALSO the number one cause of inflammation.⠀
🤯Yes, how ironic.⠀
They cause the very pain and inflammation that we use NSAIDs for.⠀
It sounds like a very similar story to the infamous PPIs and other GERD medicines essentially causing MORE heartburn.⠀
💡Get to the root cause. If you feel pain and inflammation, your body’s immune system is at work and is telling you to rest. Try to stay off NSAIDs because they are far more toxic than you think.⠀
DON'T POP A PILL, JUST BLOW IT.💪☝️🧨🔥
