What is a Fiat currency?
Fiat currency, which is present day's Cash currency, is a paper or a metal bill (Note or coin) whose value is backed by the government that issued it. It is a Centralized system of money. A fiat currency is not backed by a commodity.
What is Cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency, which is a purely digital and decentralized system of money, is a currency that works peer to peer, and no government or central authority is involved in controlling it. A cryptocurrency, like fiat currency, is not backed by a commodity as well.

WHAT ARE BLOCKS AND WHAT IS A BLOCKCHAIN ?

The Block , as it says, is actually a block or a package of permanently recorded data of the transactions. Once the block has been created, it goes into a permanently recorded database called Blockchain. A Blockchain permanently holds the data of all the previous blocks as well.

What is DEFI?

In the crypto world, you will hear the term DEFI a lot.
DEFI is an abbreviation of the words Decentralized Finance.
What is Decentralized Finance?
To understand that, you need to first understand a Centralized Finance called CEFI.

Centralized Finance (CEFI) is a financial structure where all the orders are controlled by one central exchange with no other competing parties. The easiest example of a CEFI is a Central Bank since it is the sole authority to control all the Finance of a country.

Decentralized Finance is a totally different world since it is a peer to peer finance that mostly runs on recently discovered technology called Blockchain. BITCOIN is the first Decentralized Finance (Cryptocurrency) that was launched in 2009.

The future of the financial world is set to be Decentralized through the blockchains and several big companies are now offering Decentralization services to the banks running on older models.
