KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UK, GREAT BRITAIN, BRITAIN & ENGLAND

A lot of people in Zambia and indeed all over the world, including well travelled, elite class people often c0nfuse England, United Kingdom, Britain and Great Britain. Well, here's the way to differentiate them:

England is a country just as Zambia, and its capital is London just like Lusaka is the capital of Zambia.

Great Britain is a collection of 3 countries which came together as one country and has its capital as London. Those 3 countries are:

1. England,
2. Scotland and
3. Wales.

When you include Northern Ireland to these 3 countries, they become United Kingdom (union of four nations) Viz:
1. England,
2. Scotland,
3. Wales, and
4. Northern Ireland.

That is why it is referred to as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Collectively, the four are taken as one country. And when this is the case, London is its capital.

Note however that these four individual nations all have their own respective capitals.

Accordingly, the capital of
Scotland is Edinburgh,
Wales is Cardiff;
Northern Ireland is Belfast.
England is London.

Ps: Northern Ireland is not to be mistaken for the Republic of Ireland. The latter is a separate country and its capital is Dublin.

This is Jake, a Ghanaian 🇬🇭 kid whose photo became so popular that it raised thousands of dollars funds from internet users.

Back in 2015, Adufah, a young man studying the arts in University of Illinois USA, stepped back in his hometown Ghana.

He decided to share his passion for arts in a primary school. The same school where Jake used to go. During these arts sessions, Adufah's friend, Carlos Cortes would take pictures of the kids drawing.

Back in the USA, Adufah posted the hundred of pictures he had taken during in Ghana on social media. But amidst these several captions, one caught a special attention of the public : the photo of Jake.

The extremely serious face of Jake and the way he focused on his drawing amused people and his photo became viral within hours. People started making memes with Jake's photo.

Seeing this unexpected fame of Jake, Adufah decided to raise funds. He asked people to turn their likes into cash in order to help education of the kids in Jake's school.
His idea was approved by the public since he raised 2000 dollars within barely the first 24 hours. The final amount was about 20000 dollars.

This money was intended to pay for Jake's education and to help other kids in his village.

Any person/institution with a CSD account.

3.What is a CSD account?
This is an electronic account operated by the Central Securities Depository in which securities areheldin electronic accounts opened by shareholders.It facilitates clearing and settlement of all financial instruments traded through the Lusaka Securities Exchange.

4.How do I open a CSD account?
All you need is to complete an Account Opening Form with a Stock broker and provide the necessary supporting documentation for KYC purposes.

5.What are the fees for opening this account with a broker?
There is no fee for opening a Broking Account.

6.What are the regulatory and brokerage fees for trading on LuSE?
Regulatory fees are 0.125%levied by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC),0.25% levied by the LuSE and 0.125%levied by the Lusaka Clearing and Settlement Agency (LCSA). Brokerage fees are negotiable and indicatively are 1.5%.These fees are charged on the buy and sell sides separately.
