Sometimes being late means missing out….

There’s been a lot of conversation around a popular crocodile park lately—and it gives us a simple lesson for myAkili Kids 👇🏽

In life, there are rules and timing.
If you arrive late, you might miss the opportunity.

And guess what?
Money works the same way.

Dear Kids:
Don’t wait until your money is finished to start saving.

Start early. Start small. Stay consistent.

Try this:

- Save a small part of your money every time you receive it (When you get a K10, try and save a K2)
- Use your piggy bank regularly
- Think and plan before you spend

Because when you build good habits early:
- You are always prepared
- You avoid running out of money
- You learn to control your spending

Remember:
Good money habits don’t start when you are older…
They start NOW

Zambia Financial Literacy Week 2026
Theme: “Smart Money Talks”… and our children are already speaking it.

Yesterday, myAkili Kids Project hosted a Piggy Bank Opening & Savings Review Session as part of Financial Literacy Week 2026.

50 learners from Jatamo School in Chongwe came through to our offices in Lusaka to do something powerful… open their piggy banks and reflect on their savings journey.

For many of them, this was more than just counting money.
It was about discipline, delayed gratification and learning that every small coin saved today builds a better tomorrow.

From sharing what they saved for, to the challenges they faced, to setting new goals, and confidently telling us what “Smart Money Talks” means to them. This was inspiring.

And of course, we celebrated a few learners who demonstrated outstanding saving habits through our Top Savers Recognition.

This is what we mean when we say we are transforming children’s relationship with money not just through knowledge, but through a change in saving behaviour.
