Thank you to the Institute of Retirement Funds Africa for hosting this year’s IRFA 2025 Conference. Fairtree Growth Quest Internship Programme 2025

We hosted a group of talented students for our Fairtree Growth Quest Internship, a two-week immersive learning experience designed to provide exposure to the asset management industry.

The programme offered a practical introduction to life as an investment analyst. In the first week, we focused on foundational learning through workshops on equity research, modelling and valuation, and specialist sessions led by Fairtree’s portfolio managers and investment professionals.

In the second week, interns put their learning into practice through company-specific research projects. This included conducting industry and company analysis, building valuation models, and developing an investment thesis.

This programme provided practical experience in asset management and offered a glimpse into Fairtree's unique culture. We hope it has enriched their understanding of the role of an analyst and inspired them to continue learning and growing in their careers.

A big thank you to all the bright minds who took part in the internship. We look forward to seeing how each of you continues to grow in the years ahead.

Fund anniversary | Fairtree Flexible Balanced Prescient Fund | 12-year anniversary

The objective of the Fund is to create medium- to long-term capital growth, within the constraints governing retirement funds (Regulation 28). The Fund invests in a diversified and balanced range of asset classes and will invest in offshore securities when the benefits of higher returns and diversification are available.

Fairtree x Akani Simbine | Proud Partner

With the World Athletics Championships just around the corner, Akani Simbine is deep into his training in Italy. He is joined by his long-time coach, Werner Prinsloo, Athletics South Africa’s Coach of the Year for 2024, as they continue to refine, sharpen and pursue excellence together. Their partnership reflects the value of real relationships and the impact of consistent, high-performance collaboration.

Akani recently claimed victory at the Rabat Diamond League on 25 May, clocking an impressive 9.95 seconds in the 100m to secure his third Diamond League win of the season.

Fairtree is proud to support Akani on his journey to Tokyo and wishes him continued success as he prepares to represent South Africa on the world stage.
