Debt review is a regulated legal process. Before signing or paying anyone, protect yourself by completing these four checks:

✅ CHOOSE A REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL
Use a reputable debt counsellor and verify their NCRDC registration with the National Credit Regulator.

✅ PAY THROUGH A REGISTERED PDA
Payments intended for distribution to your credit providers must be processed through a registered Payment Distribution Agent. Never pay these funds into a debt counsellor’s personal or ordinary business account.

⚠️ AVOID DEBT-REVIEW REMOVAL SCAMS
No person or company can simply cancel debt review, remove a valid debt-review status or reverse a court order administratively. Be cautious of guaranteed removal promises and demands for advance payment.

✅ VERIFY ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP
Ask whether the debt counsellor belongs to a reputable professional association such as DCASA. NCR registration and DCASA membership are separate checks.
