We’re taking Cyber Awareness Month beyond October, because cybersecurity is a year-round commitment. Successful cyberattacks often start with a well-intentioned employee just trying to be helpful. Lower your risk by educating ALL staff on:

Phishing emails: If the request asks for sensitive information like login details, credit card info, or authorisation – always check before actioning. Especially if it’s urgent.

Dodgy links: Don’t click on suspicious links. Always check URLs for subtle signs they might be fake (like using a “–”instead of a “.” or a misspelling of the company name).

Passwords: They should be long and random, using a mix of upper case, lower case, numerals and symbols.

Device security: Don’t let anyone else use your work device (phone, tablet or computer). Not even your kids. Keep it locked whenever you’re not using it.

Training: Cybersecurity is not just the IT department’s business, it’s everyone’s business. Create a culture of cybersecurity awareness by empowering ALL staff with cybersecurity training.
