The debit order dispute process has been simplified to make it fairer, clearer, and easier to manage.

✅ More time for immediate reversals: The dispute window has increased from 40 days to 60 days.

✅ One standard dispute period: The previous 365-day dispute period for certain debit orders has been replaced with a single 60-day period across all debit order types.

This means one consistent timeframe for managing and resolving your debit order disputes.

It’s time for your monthly SASSA Update! 📢

🗓️ June 2026 SASSA Payment Dates:

👵 Older Persons Grants – 2 June
♿ Disability Grants – 3 June
👶 Child Support Grants – 4 June

There is some good news for grant beneficiaries in June 2026. Older Persons, Disability and Care Dependency Grants increased to R2 400 from April 2026, while beneficiaries aged 75+ and War Veterans receive R2 420.

Please keep in mind that SASSA is continuing with digital upgrades and enhanced biometric verification processes to improve efficiency and help curb fraud.

SASSA has also intensified beneficiary reviews and fraud detection measures, which has resulted in stricter verification processes. Ensure your personal information and documents are up to date, and respond promptly should you receive a review request from SASSA.

With the May SASSA payments around the corner, we’re sharing the payout dates as well as some important information for you to take note of.

May SASSA Payment Dates:
👵 Older Persons Grants – 5 May
♿ Disability Grants – 6 May
👶 Child Support Grants – 7 May

In April, the following information was made public:
👉 If your grant is NOT paid on your scheduled date, please visit your nearest SASSA office as soon as possible.

This could mean that:
❗ Your grant may be under review
❗ Your personal details may need updating
❗ You may need to complete Life Certification

Don’t ignore this or continue waiting, rather take action immediately to help ensure uninterrupted grant payments.
