Yesterday MEGA conducted a Board Site Visit to our properties in Ekandustria and Loopspruit Farm, engaging with key stakeholders and gaining valuable insight into the development potential of these strategic economic areas.

During the visit the MEGA Board and management was updated on the status, key developments and refurbishment initiatives in Ekandustria, while also exploring opportunities to unlock vacant land as well as strengthen infrastructure and services within the precinct.

We ensure that Mpumalanga’s industrial potential can be optimally carry out by identifying development priorities and strengthening initiatives that can attract investment, support enterprise development, create employment opportunities and contribute to sustainable economic growth in the province.

Women’s Month at MEGA | Building Resilient Economies for All

As Women’s Month draws to a close, MEGA reflected on the importance of creating spaces that support the development, wellbeing and economic participation of women.

The Women’s Day programme brought MEGA colleagues together for conversations on wellness, entrepreneurship, preparing for the future and finding and using their voices, alongside a creative Sip & Paint session.

The art session provided an opportunity for creative expression, reflection and connection, allowing colleagues to step away from their everyday responsibilities and engage through art in a relaxed environment.
From turning ideas into opportunities to preparing for the future, the programme highlighted that building resilient economies also requires investing in the people who contribute to them.

As MEGA continues to advance its mandate of economic growth and development in Mpumalanga, the participation, development and contribution of women remain an important part of building an inclusive provincial economy.

As part of our engagement tour of Eswatini, MEGA's Trade & Investment team visited the Tex-Ray Industrial Co. textile factory to gain first-hand insight into textile manufacturing and to bring those learnings back home.

The visit to Tex-Ray gave us first-hand insight into the processes, infrastructure, supply chains and business models that make textile manufacturing viable and demonstrated that Eswatini is not just a trade partner, it is also a learning partner.

Mpumalanga's booming forestry sector creates a natural foundation for textile development in the province. Visits like these are how we turn that potential into practice, by learning from established regional players and connecting those lessons to the businesses and opportunities right here in Mpumalanga.
