I believe that working with good people matters because then the work environment is good. If there is a sense of respect and belief among the people you work with, that is when good work is done.

Believe you me, I'm still in the game

Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.

Believe improvement is always a possibility. Be ready and willing to stretch and expand yourself beyond what you currently know. If you are comfortable where you are, you are likely to stay exactly where you’re at. Long-term success, however, is grounded in curiosity. It is based in learning and paying attention to information that will stretch your knowledge.

There have been plenty of things throughout the course of my life that I have pondered on for days and never ended up taking action on, because I thought a better moment or opportunity was going to present itself. I now know -- this is a trap mentality. It rarely happens that those same opportunities will come again.

Life presents itself with small windows of opportunity, and we have an even shorter time frame to make a decision. Those with a sense of urgency, will jump through these windows when they see them. Those who lack urgency will do as I once did, and weigh the pros and cons for so long that the opportunity passes us by, and all that’s left is the “woulda, shoulda, coulda’s.”

Fear can paralyze and absolutely destroy an entrepreneur's ambition and confidence, but only if they let it. When I quit my job and created my own business, I experienced the same fears all entrepreneurs face starting out -- the fear of failure, the fear of what others might say, the fear I wasn’t good enough. As I increased my certainty, and became aware of what limitations were holding me back I started to face my fears head on. When you face your fears, they disappear.

You cannot let your fears control you and you must be willing to take risks despite them. All great leaders and visionaries have realized that being fearless is part of the recipe for success. In my experience, most of the people who gave in to their fears and quit are eventually employed by those who conquered their fears and never gave up. Your only fear should be having the exact same life you currently have a year from now. Remember that your dreams will always eclipse your biggest fears.

Every single day of our lives, we have a choice when we wake up in the morning whether we are going to direct our focus on the positive or negative. Exceptional thinkers know the importance of where they direct their focus. They fully understand that it impacts their energy levels and will determine how they perform. You can eliminate a lot of the worry, stress, and anxiety just by choosing to focus on the positive. Regardless of how big or small, force yourself to see the good in every situation no matter how miniscule it may be.

A small business is a living entity, and like a baby it demands constant care and attention. Except, it doesn’t go down for naps. You can’t hand it off to a babysitter. It consumes everything you feed it and hungrily demands more.

I'll stop at nothing but continue to do wonders.

Mercedes Benz, V220d.

Other associated cost on wear and tear after 6 years totals R 100 000.

Assuming you kept the car for six years,

You would have spent a total of:

R 2 500 000.

A start up business of Tyre Fitment & car service centre will cost,

R 1 million.

Assuming a monthly turnover of R 200 000,
With a profit of R 50 000.

After six years, total turn over will average around R 14 400 000.

Average profit of R 3 , 600 000.

Surprisingly the bank will finance the car and not the business.

Car will be sold for R 480 000 if you drove less than 20 000 km's a year after six years

Business could be sold for R 5 000 000 or more after six years.

This had me thinking that perhaps I should delay my gratification until I can buy the car cash or it can pay for itself.

I hope it makes sense.

The single biggest thing that will wear you down as a leader is dealing with dysfunctional people on your team.

In your personal life, you have the freedom and autonomy to avoid and detach from people you deem negative, toxic, narcissistic, sociopathic, dysfunctional, or simply unmotivating.

But within the office environment, it’s much more challenging to get rid of these people. When you try to exit someone from your company, it can scare others (Am I next!?) and be massively disruptive to the team. It can also impact the performance of your team, and you could potentially lose others who were aligned or friends with the employee you let go. The best way to prevent this is to hire smarter.

Some entrepreneurs, by habit, are too focused on hours worked, rather than results. In all work environments, you get what you pay for. The best entrepreneurs set high standards for performance, but are quick to celebrate results with rewards, recognition and advancement.
