We often think we need to be stronger before we reach out for support.

But counselling isn’t about having all the answers.

It’s about having a space where you can borrow hope when things feel heavy, borrow compassion when you’re struggling to be kind to yourself, and borrow belief in your own strength until you can feel it again.

Over time, what was once borrowed becomes something you trust within yourself.

Drop the number, tag a friend who needs a laugh, and let’s see which one wins! 😂

Every mother remembers the day her baby was born.

But what often stays with us isn't just what happened.

It's how it felt.

The fear.
The courage.
The disappointment.
The relief.
The love.
The parts of the story we rarely say out loud.

Birth stories are more than a sequence of events. They become part of how we see ourselves, our bodies, our strength, and our journey into motherhood.

When we make space to honour our stories with curiosity and compassion, we often discover something important:

There is more to the story than we realised.

Today I have the privilege of sharing this conversation with an incredible group of mothers at .mom_postnatal.group and witnessing the courage it takes to revisit, reflect on, and honour the stories that shaped them.

Every birth story deserves space.
Every feeling deserves acknowledgement.
Every mother deserves compassion.

Self-love doesn’t have to be big or complicated 🤍

Sometimes it looks like slowing down, resting, stepping outside, asking for help, or giving yourself permission to pause for a moment

Over the years, I've learned that wisdom isn't about never making mistakes, it's about having the courage to acknowledge them.

Confidence isn't always knowing the answer, it's trusting yourself enough to keep going when you don't.

And wellbeing isn't about having everything together, it's about returning to yourself, again and again, with kindness.

The people who help others still struggle.

The people who teach growth are still growing.

The people who encourage healing are healing too.

None of us are finished products. We're all learning, unlearning, stumbling, repairing, and trying again.

And maybe that's not a flaw of being human.

Maybe that's the beauty of it. ❤️

So much of motherhood today is spent overstimulated, overwhelmed, disconnected from ourselves, and quietly feeling like we’re failing if we can’t “do it all.”

But healing, regulation, confidence, and connection are built differently.
Slowly. Gently. Repeatedly.

Sometimes the best thing for a new mom isn’t more productivity.
It’s sunlight. Rest. Support. Presence. Nourishment. Safe people.

Not perfect motherhood.
Nourished motherhood. 🤍

Which one would you add to the “best dopamine” list?

Children’s behaviour can be challenging and sometimes exhausting.

But often, behaviour isn’t a personal attack.

It’s communication.

Behind the yelling may be overwhelm.
Behind the hitting may be frustration.
Behind the refusal may be a need for connection, autonomy, or support.

Understanding the reason behind a behaviour doesn’t mean accepting it.

It means responding to what’s underneath it.

Because when we become curious about the message, we’re better able to guide the behaviour.
