If you shop at Shoprite or any major retailer, bank with Capitec or another bank, hold an insurance policy with Sanlam or any other insurer, pay car instalments for a Ford, BMW, Mercedes, or any other vehicle, buy clothes from Mr Price, or purchase building materials from Cashbuild — and yet you don’t own shares in any of these companies — then you’re part of the mainstream economy, but only as a consumer.

You support these businesses daily. If you had also owned shares in them, you could have been richer than you are today.

It's time to think like an owner, not just a spender.

Market Update from a SA Award Winning Stockbroker:

After a four-year interlude, the South African Reserve Bank, cut interest rate by 25 basis points, bringing the prime lending rate down to 11.5%.

The equity markets are trending upwards on the expected lower interest rate cycle.

Locally, September has seen, the JSE All Share Index (ALSI) rose by 4.04% and the USD/ZAR appreciate by 3.6% to R17.18 at the end of the month.

Globally, the S&P 500 and Euro STOXX 50 were both up 2.1% and 0.9% respectively.

It was a magnificent month for the Hang Seng and the Shenzhen CSI 300 increasing 18.3% and 21.1% respectively.

The stock market is indeed trending upward ... towards 2028.
