How To Spot A SARS Spam Notification

If you receive a SARS notification read it carefully before you do anything. 🚨

Here is what a legitimate SARS communication will NEVER include:
❌ Banking details, SARS will never provide banking details in an email or SMS
❌ A request to make immediate payment via a link
❌ Threats of immediate arrest or legal action to create panic
❌ Requests for personal or banking information via email or phone

Here is how scammers operate:

⚠️ They create urgency: "outstanding payment due immediately"
⚠️ They create fear: "your account will be frozen"
⚠️ They create pressure :"respond within 24 hours or face prosecution"

That urgency is the trap. The moment you feel rushed, stop! Verify first.

What Non-Compliance Means For Your Business

And here is what most business owners don't know about their CSD account.
CSD stands for Central Supplier Database, it is the official government portal where your business must be registered to do business with any government department or entity. Your tax compliance status reflects directly on your CSD report. If your reconciliation has not been submitted, non-compliance shows up on your CSD report instantly, making you ineligible for any supplier opportunities until it is resolved.
