MANAGING THE ASSETS OF THE BUSINESS:

The primary function of the credit controller is collections and ensuring that there is a constant cash flow in the business.

Without credit controllers, a business' cash flow can become unmanageable and the risk of bad debts can increase.

The Credit Controller plays a vital role in the "buying" and "selling" process.

These are the four primary responsibilities of the Credit Controller:-

1. Ensure that the risk of allowing Credit to an individual or business is acceptable to the Company.

2. Manage the outstanding debt (Credit) in the light of circumstances, which may be constantly changing. (Exchange rate/Cash flow/Seasonality/Fashions etc.)

3. Ensure that Customers who trade on credit, honour their payment contracts and pay on time.

4. Collect the payments and credit the correct account.
