Get your unused travel payments back. A lot of people are still struggling to get refunds for travel which was not used because of covid19. If you paid by credit card you can claim back these expenses and in many cases you will succeed. In some instances the supplier may fight if he has a no refund clause in the contract. But it is a quick and easy
way to get a refund. Good luck.

If you have a Qantas frequent flyer card link it to the BP PETROL CARD and get qff points on your petrol purchases. Incidently BP premium fuel is generally a few cents cheaper than shell because its market from standard fuel is less.

The covid crunch hasn't really struck everybody yet. Prepare yourself by reducing cost that are in your control. Electricity is becoming a bigger cost. You can save by understanding how you are charged. If you have an off-peak tariff then you should schedule as much electricity use to that time as you can. Use the time delay on your dishwasher, your washing machine and your pool if you have chlorination and filtering.

Is there opportunities in the corona virus gloom. Yes. A friend asked me about moving to Queensland. He and his daughter are thinking about it. Upon examination it looks like a good opportunity to see property in victoria while it is still relatively high and buy good quality better value home in qld. In my friends case he can sell his Victorian home for about $850k buy an equidistant home for about $550 and he has $ 300k to put in his super and or buy a boat.

Well I put into practice my own advice to ask for 50% discount on a number of supplies. I started with home insurance. I asked my bank for 50 % off my mum's house insurance. The initial response was ahh no we can't do that. After further discussion I increased the home over from 550k to 770k and also increase the excess from 500 to 5000. I also cancelled her contents insurance as most things were really not worth claiming. As a result the insurance actually went down by 49.8%.
Insurance of all kinds are soft targets to get savings.

You can save significant amounts on you house and contents insurance. Just ask for a better deal. Also for house insurance which virtually nobody claims against. Increase your excess to $5000 as this will reduce your premium. I asked for s 50% reduction today and after adjusting the excess and eliminating contents I achieved thay reduction. On another property without any change to cover I was given about 20% reduction. Go for it

Balance transfers offer a
Good opportunity to escape some or all of your credit card debt without paying interest. Bendigo bank is currently offering 18 months interest free on credit card balance transfers. It does cost an initial 2% fee on the balance and I'm sure there are other conditions. Check it out thoroughly before you act. Good luck.

TIME TO CONSIDER REFINANCING. With interest rates incredibly low Check your current housing interest rate and look around for a much better deal. A small change in your interest rate can have a big effect on your repayments. 1% change on a $500000 loan is $100 a week in interest alone. If you need help just call john or MURRAY on 1300555237
