There's something truly special about spending time with your adult kids – no bedtimes, no carpools, and no homework help required. Brad and I had a wonderful time in NYC with the whole family,

Madeline, who was visiting from Hong Kong, and I enjoyed some extensive wedding dress shopping and had a memorable "say yes to the dress" moment. I also had the chance to see both Angela's and Blake's new apartments, while Nick and I made an unexpected visit to the local ER – thankfully, all is well.

I'm grateful for the time together and already looking forward to Winter Break, when we can all be in one place again!

Enjoyed a wonderful summer lunch by the lake at Valley Lo Club with the North Suburban Chiefs. Thankfully, the rain held off and the sun even made a brief appearance. As always, the conversation reflected the spirit of this group — thoughtful, supportive, and forward-looking. We spent time discussing what we're excited about and where we can help one another.

Grateful for time well spent with such smart and inspiring women — and a special little guest this time, too.

Looking forward to book club next!

Our team truly enjoyed getting to know Summer and Ryan and working with them over the past few months. It has been a pleasure to see them grow professionally while exploring a field they are both passionate about.

As they wrap up their internship, both Summer and Ryan will be returning to Indiana University's Kelley School of Business for their senior year, where they are pursuing degrees in finance. We are grateful for their contributions this summer and wish them continued success as they begin their final year at IU!

What a great evening for a mixer.

The Harvard Business School Alumnae Circles from the North and Western suburbs met for the first time in Jeni Golomb's beautiful Elmhurst backyard. Over Italian takeout, we had the opportunity to make new connections, reconnect with old friends, and enjoy thoughtful conversation across both business and personal topics.

In my experience, when HBS women gather, the discussion is engaging and energizing, leaving everyone a little smarter and more inspired than when they arrived. This evening was certainly no exception.

I was fortunate to spend Sunday evening at Michigan Shores Club, where former Chicago Tribune writer and current syndicated columnist Heidi Stevens interviewed New York Times bestselling author and pediatric physician Dr. Dana Suskind about her new book, Human Raised.

In a world increasingly shaped by screens and technology, and artificial intelligence, Dr Suskind posed an essential question: How do we raise children who are resilient, empathetic, curious, and deeply connected to others?

Drawing on research, storytelling, and years of experience working with children and families, Dr. Suskind explored why the most powerful message: the greatest influence on a child's development is not technology, curriculum, or AI — it is human connection.

She offered parents and caregivers a thoughtful framework for navigating this unchartered territory through her HOPE principles:
• Human connection is irreplaceable
• Own your imperfections
• Protect the early years
• Enhance – don't replace- adult/child interaction

As a member of the Board of Trustees at the Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview, I was proud to see this meaningful conversation launch the museum's Developing Respectful Citizens Speaker Series, made possible through the generous support of Lilly Endowment Inc.

At Kohl Children's Museum, we have spent years watching young children learn through play. One thing has become increasingly clear: kindness, belonging, and respect are not traits children simply acquire overnight. They are built slowly and intentionally through relationships with the adults who consistently show up for them.

It was an inspiring evening and a meaningful reminder that in an increasingly digital world, our most important work remains deeply human.

The air outside was literally hazardous, but you couldn't tell from the laughter and insightful conversation inside Adalina Prime.

Thanks to Debbie Michaelson and Cristine Chiper for organizing such a great evening.

Proud to have such great friends who happen to be some of the absolute best financial advisors around – Kristina VanLiew, Mary DiChristofano and Kathy Roeser.

Last night was a hot one for grilling, but the gorgeous surroundings of Elawa Farm—and the Girls Who Grill class led by local grilling and entertaining expert Babs—made it completely worth it.

Just like every time I meet up with my fellow Chiefs, I walked out smarter than when I arrived. I didn't realize that grilling was something missing from my life until now. Babs taught us that anything you can make in your kitchen, you can also make on your grill. She even made brownies.

I also picked up some handy food safety tips and practical skills—how to make perfectly cooked chicken without oil and always having extra tongs on hand.

Eating the delicious, finished product, the group enjoyed enriching conversation, and I think we all left no longer feeling intimidated by the grill but empowered instead.
